(* 1988) is a czech cellist. Since 2003 he studied at the Jan Neruda grammar school (in the class focused on musical education under the supervision of Prof. J. Vychytil). From 2008 to 2014 Vojtěch studied at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague with Prof. Daniel Veis and Prof. Mikael Ericsson. During his studies he participated in several international masterclasses, where he studied with eg. Christoph Richter, Karine Georgian and Robert Cohen. During the academic year 2013 – 2014, Vojtech got to study at HMT Lepizig with professor Peter Bruns through the Erasmus project.
Among his most important achievements are: 1st Prize at the Prague Junior Note competition (2003), 1st Prize at the Competition of Czech Conservatories in Teplice (2005) and 3rd prize at the competition of B. Martinů in Prague (2012).
As a soloist he played with many leading Czech orchestras (as The Czech Chamber Orchestra or Prague Philharmonia) and so he had the opportunity to work with a wide range of excellent conductors (Andreas Sebastian Weiser,Ondřej Kukal, Stanislav Vavřínek, Tomáš Hanák).
Vojtěch Urban is also experienced in teaching and playing in the orchestra .He is currently largely devoted to chamber music as well – he is a member of several chamber ensembles.
